Apple released iOS 11.3 Beta 4 to developers yesterday. Thankfully, this update appears to be more stable than previous betas. It addresses and fixes quite a few bugs.
I am an Android loyalist. I rock a Samsung Galaxy S8 (No. I won’t be upgrading to the S9. I’m waiting for the Note 9.), but I have an iPhone 6s (soon to be iPhone 8) for work. I appreciate the opportunity to review and get things done with both major mobile operating systems. When Apple announced their public beta program back in 2016, I signed up right away. I wanted to have the opportunity to review their latest releases of iOS early.
This public beta fixes WiFi connection issues, a Skype crashing bug and includes several ARKit upgrades. It’s been reported that this public beta release solves an issue where the Mac is not recognizing an iPhone/iPad running iOS 11.3 beta, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for me. I run iOS 11.3 beta on my iPhone 6s and MacOS 10.13.4 beta on my MacBook Pro Late 2011. They don’t appear to be the best of friends. I haven’t been able to get AirDrop to work for some reason. Perhaps it will function correctly in the final release. But what really matters is the Animoji! The update introduces 4 new Animoji made available on the iPhone X – Lion, Skull, Bear, and Dragon.
Have you given the public beta a run through yet? Let me know in the comments if you have come across any hiccups.
