The Marvel-Netflix Relationship is coming to an end. I was excited about the Netflix Marvel-Verse when it was first announced. I enjoyed Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and the second season of Iron Fist. With Disney launching its own streaming service, we all knew it was only a matter of time before the relationship would dissolve.
Jessica Jones is a complex series for a complex character. Jessica is haunted by the terrible things she did while under the control of Kilgrave and works to make amends for them. For me, the series showed the most promise to carry on for several seasons more, but season 3 will be the final season of the show.
Netflix released the official trailer for the series finale:
The “big bad” of the season looks to be Gregory Salinger. He is known in the comics as the second person to carry the “Foolkiller” name. The character’s first appearance was in Omega the Unknown #9 and has deep ties to Spider-Man and Deadpool.
Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as the title character. Ritter also directed an episode of the show during the final season, which Netflix released behind the scenes footage of. Rachael Taylor returns as Patsy Walker. Carrie-Anne Moss returns as Jeri Hogarth. Jeremy Bobb joins the cast to play the role of Salinger.
Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen. – Netflix
The final season of Jessica Jones will be released on Netflix on June 14, 2019.
